Girls v boys clothes choice<\/h3>

One of the reasons I started my Teemill store<\/u><\/a> is because there are a lot of kids\u2019 clothes that I don\u2019t really like, and not always a great amount of choice for children - especially boys (am I right, mums of boys?!) <\/p>

Girls have so much more choice than boys! And especially as boys go into older boys ranges (my son is 12) the selection goes right down and colours are only black, dark blue, grey, khaki\u2026 it all gets very dull indeed.<\/p>

My son doesn\u2019t want to be dressed in crazy bright colours but he loves a splash of bright colour (especially orange) and wants designs that he thinks are cool. He doesn\u2019t like football, skateboarding, graffiti, cartoon characters. I can\u2019t bear slogans on kids\u2019 clothes, so often I really like the graphic but wish they hadn\u2019t put the words on.<\/p>

He loves tabletop gaming like Warhammer and Dungeons & Dragons, he loves mystical creatures like Krakens, also sharks and pirates and books like Lord of the Rings. He has so many interests but they are not that well catered for in clothing.<\/p>

Girls\u2019 clothing, especially as you get up towards pre-teen, gets worryingly \u2018grown up\u2019 with cropped tops, dropped shoulders and grown-up slogans that all seem to be about beauty and YouTube etc. Or it\u2019s all branded merch like Disney characters.<\/p>

This age is still young but growing up fast, so it\u2019s nice to look after the interests they still have without pushing grown-up stuff on them - and easy comfy clothes that they can throw on and enjoy and feel like themselves in!<\/p>

Designers in the making<\/h3>

As soon as my two kids got wind of my T-shirt designs they were excited and wanted to \u2018help\u2019 ;)<\/p>

They love seeing the result of their design work with me on real T-shirts that they can wear and look really cool!<\/p>

Having a chat with my son we came up with loads of ideas for designs he\u2019d like - more are in the pipeline! The lucky dice tee<\/u><\/a> is a great one for tabletop gamers as well as just being a lucky tee. The inspiration came from a packing slip from a great gaming company we\u2019d ordered some Warhammer<\/u><\/a> dice from, they\u2019d written \u2018may your dice always roll sixes\u2019 on the order slip which was a fab personalised message.<\/p>

My daughter is a keen artist and is obsessed with everything cute. She drew a little bunny in my notebook and we thought \u2018what if we made this bunny look like it\u2019s popping out of a pocket?\u2019 so we drew up the design, refined it and here it is, Bunny in my pocket<\/u><\/a>. It works beautifully on a classic Breton stripe top.<\/p>

We loved the idea of playing with a \u2018pocket\u2019, which isn\u2019t a real pocket but we\u2019re using it as if it is - and including characters who interact with it. We followed the bunny pocket with cute pandas, climbing into the pocket<\/u><\/a> where some bamboo shoots are!<\/p>

They\u2019re a super cute little detail on a tee that will go with everything. <\/p>

I also know a lot of dinosaur fans, but they are too old for babyish cartoon dinosaurs, they want realistic dinosaurs. I mean we all know dinosaurs are cool, so celebrate it on tops featuring illustrated dinosaurs such as the multi-dinosaur top<\/u><\/a>, the T-Rex<\/u><\/a> or Giganotosaurus<\/u><\/a> tops. I\u2019ve made the multi-dino top available for men<\/u><\/a> and women<\/u><\/a> too, because dinosaurs are not just for kids! <\/p>
